About Val Eren

Val Eren, dramatic tenor, is a versatile and multi-faceted artist. As a native of Riga, Latvia, music was always part of Val’s upbringing. His musical training began at a young age in dance and musical theatre, in which he received formal training at the Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts. At the age of 26, Val stumbled upon his true passion and decided to pursue a career in opera. Recently, Val has had the opportunity to perform in Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail as well as the roles of Soldato, Famigliari, and Lucano in L’incoronazione di Poppea. In the summer of 2015, Val sang the role of Monostatos in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte at the Academia Europea Dell’Opera in Tuscany, Italy. This summer, Val will be performing the role of Hoffmann in Les Contes d'Hoffman at the Summer Lyric Opera Theatre. Val is a recent graduate of the University of Toronto where he received his Honours Bachelor of Arts degree.
